About the design…
Our tasting glasses are made to the strict International Olive Council (IOC) standards (size, color, material) for evaluation of extra virgin olive oil. Because color is not an indicator of the quality of an extra virgin olive oil, a translucent blue glass is used to avoid any color bias during tasting. The wide shape at the bottom allows your hand to more easily warm the oil, while it also coats the glass surface releasing its aroma. The tapered top is meant to trap the aroma for the taster to smell. This same glass design is used by IOC approved panel judges and sommeliers around the world.
